A fantasy satire silent film set in the 1880s: A dollmaker's son falls in love with a sweet handmaiden who is held hostage by her cruel, creepy master. Including puppets that come to life.
Sets include late victorian mansion, an alchemy laboratory, a graveyard, the dollmaker's workshop and a freak-show fair market.
The design references victorian freak shows, Hammer horror films and Czech puppetry.
